ABOUT ME
I’m a screenwriter, also a sometime story consultant/script editor, educator and journalist.
As a screenwriter I have written for Holby City (BBC One) and Freefonix (CBBC/BBC One). I have developed shows for Silver Pictures Television, Starz, Artists Studio and Bentley Productions, among others. I have also been commissioned to write feature screenplays, and to create/write online and branded narrative content.
As a script editor I have worked internationally on numerous feature, TV and digital projects for film funds, production companies, producers, directors and writers.
I ran development at Hammer from the relaunch in spring 2007 till the company was folded into Exclusive Media twelve months later, reading/covering over 200 screenplays, Script Editing Beyond The Rave, and doing the initial development on Wake Wood and The Woman In Black. I remained at Hammer/Exclusive Media in various roles through the end of 2013 (working mainly in marketing and brand development, but also running a major film restoration project).
As an educator I have run seminars for Screen Training Ireland, The Script Factory and ScriptWriter Magazine. I have taught on several M.A. screenwriting degrees and have guest lectured at film schools internationally, including at the NFTS.
I was the Deputy Editor of ScriptWriter Magazine from the 2001 launch through 2006.
I studied Drama at The University of Manchester, gaining a First Class B.A. (Hons), then received a Distinction in my M.A., Screenwriting for Film & Television from The University of Sheffield.
I am also the author of On Track: Killing Joke (Every Album, Every Song) 2023.
